German M.P.38 first production 'Schmeisser' machine gun. The gun retaining all the M.P.38 attributes, including a smooth side magazine. Typical of most M.P.38s, the gun has been period adapted with the modified bolt. The gun complete with its folding butt. This gun was probably one of the last production M.P.38s, before the new completely modified M.P.40 model took over. The gun bears the serial number '474' on the various metal sections, and the manufacture code 'ayf' for ERMA.

Condition report: The pistol in overall very good towards excellent condition. The Bakelite grip plates in excellent condition free from damage. Overall blueing in excellent order. 

Note: The M.P.38 is offered for sale with a 1992 deactivation certificate from The Birmingham Gun Barrel Proof House.
